Can I Book My MOT Test For Next Week?

September 10th 2015 Written by Mark Masters

One thing that is always ensured here is that MOT bookings are scheduled with plenty of notice.

ETS provide MOT testing for class 4, 5 and 7 vehicles. These can be carried out anytime during the Monday to Friday after 15:30 (Saturday’s 07:00 to 12:00). Customers can book these at relatively short notice, but always give yourself plenty of time.

Two Month Lead Time

For HGV tests our lead-time is two months. This way we can plan with VOSA who assign a set of hours per day. By ensuring a two-month lead-time, means that we are fully prepared for when you bring in your vehicle.

Whilst extreme cases may mean a HGV cancellation and the ability to schedule an MOT earlier, for any new customer, allow yourself a window of a few months to book in and then know it’s being taken care of. This also means that you can get the day and time that suits you.

For our ongoing customers, we block book their MOT so they know when the next is visit well ahead of schedule. Lorries and buses (including coaches) must be tested each year. What we ensure is consistency and the welfare of your vehicle.

As Easy As Possible

We look to make the whole process as easy as possible where we book your MOT into the system and one month before the MOT you receive a proforma with the day and time.

We are able to test all types of HGV and PSV MOTs. These are carried out by certified VOSA inspectors here in our Poole location within our VOSA Authorised Testing Facility.

There are some vehicles that are exempt from the HGV annual test, click here to find out and to fill in a declaration form.

If you would like us to help you with your Annual Test, here are my four tips

give yourself plenty of time to book (two months in advance for HGVs)

if there is a particular day and time, just let us know

make sure your vehicle is loaded

don’t be late! If you are late the test may be cancelled. Our VOSA inspectors are here for seven hours a day, so cannot delay the other tests that are booked in that particular day.

In the worse case scenario that your HGV/PSV fails its MOT, we will let you know.  You have 14 days to get a retest before you have to pay for the full test again. We always suggest that customers book a retest ASAP after the vehicle fails, don’t leave it to the last minute.

We have a skilled team of technicians who can rectify, should you choose the ETS team to assist you.

Our VOSA test station is open 08:00 until 15:30 Monday to Friday. Normal MOT testing is Monday to Friday after 15:30 and Saturday mornings 07:00 to 12:00.

ETS are an Authorised Test Facility (ATF), give me a call on 01202 669339 or click here to fill in our MOT form.

N.B. Invoice customers receive a pro forma when they book with a confirmed date and time. They receive their invoice the month prior to test.
